When we allow Satan and his army to have a greater impact on our lives than that of Christ we are in an extremely dangerous place. Satan will use our past and our transgressions against us; you are not good enough, what you have done could never be forgiven, your sins are too big for God’s forgiveness, etc. This will penetrate our very being and begin to rot the roots of our faith and beliefs in Christ Jesus. Satan knows his future. The only way that he can hurt God is by affecting those on the earth and keeping them from fulfilling the purpose for the kingdom of God.
Paul wrote often about dying to sin (Romans 6:11), to the flesh (Romans 8:13; Galatians 5:24), and to self (Galatians 2:20). He lived what he preached and urged believers everywhere to imitate him as he imitated Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1; 4:16). He was able to impact untold millions for the kingdom of God because he refused to be distracted or consumed by earthly interests. Not even death scared him, so he could not be threatened away from obeying Jesus (Philippians 1:20–23).
PHILIPPIANS 3:13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
Isaiah 43:18, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Acts 17:2–5; 18:4), 2 Corinthians 11:24–28, Acts 14:19–21, Galatians 2:20

013. Addiction - West Virginia Opioid Crisis - James 4:7
Friday Jul 09, 2021
Friday Jul 09, 2021
West Virginia will always be near and dear to heart; it is where I was born and raised. I am a coal miner’s son, and the great, great grandson of Uncle Dyke Garrett (who Baptized Devil Anse Hatfield). My heritage runs deep in the Southern Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. The drug and alcohol addictions in West Virginia per capita is unbelievable. I will reference my research later in the description. It appears Narcan has become the savior for drug addicts instead of a relationship with Jesus Christ. My family has been hit by drug and alcohol addiction on both my wife’s side of the family and my side of the family. I have personally witnessed the tragic effect addiction has on the entire family. Not just the individual themselves. Alcohol, opioids, meth, crack cocaine, etc. all lead to one place; destruction. In this pod cast I discuss the effect of addiction within my family and reference articles where I pulled my information. I also provide resources where folks can call and get professional help. These phone calls a free. I hope you enjoy the podcast.

“From my earliest years as a clinician, I worked with persons and families struggling with addiction,” said Elizabeth Croney, MSW, LCSW, Executive Vice President for Clinical Advancement at KVC Health Systems. “There was usually a great sense of hope because these disorders were very treatable if clients had access to services and became committed to the long journey of a recovery lifestyle. The climate now is quite different because addiction—while always a social problem—has now become a public health emergency.”
